It was first used as a Cargill grain storage facility, next used as "Westby Cooperative Seed exchange in 1919, in 1940 Ben Logan purchased the property and ran it as "Westby Feed and Seed". These cabins are at one of the highest points in the Ocooch Mountains, overlooking the little village of Avalanche where people come from all over the country to trout fish in the West Fork of the Kickapoo River and hunt deer & turkey. There is a 1 mile long hiking trail through our 156 acre farm which has a 10 mile view of the surrounding hill, valleys and the maple forest. One cabin sleeps 2 people and the other sleeps up to 4. Cabin #1 This is a camping cabin that sleeps one or two people! We offer a 12 x 22 ft. cabin for camping with a kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator, water cooler, TV/DVD, table & chairs and a futon for 2. Use of bathroom at our main farm house about 50 ft. from the cabin. $25.00/night for 1-2.
Cabin #2 This cabin is a 1 bedroom with additional sleeping in the living room on a futon. Full kitchen and bathroom with a shower. All linens provided for both cabins. #75.00/night for up to 4 people. Equipped with pots/pans, crock pot, roaster, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, stove, and serving dishe Large Deck off second story of house and carport under the deck; original Windmill and Root Cellar used 100 years ago have been restored. Renters of the cottage have exclusive rights to use the 156 acre farm for deer hunting, morel mushroom hunting, turkey hunting and hiking.
